Apart from Michael and the Bublé band, a number of people from a broad spectrum of genres have made a lasting impression on me.
Whilst some may be household names others are on the rise and, in my mind, are already shining stars. Some folk are people I have admired from afar and others I am honoured and privileged to call my friends. Check them out!
John Barrowman is a leading man of musical theatre, actor ('Captain Jack' in BBC sci-fi series 'Torchwood' and 'Doctor Who'), recording artist, TV presenter and all-round entertainmer ... and the nicest guy on the planet.
Derren Brown - forget Simon Baker in 'The Mentalist'. Derren Brown is the real deal - a master illusionist who demostrates his craft through a mixture of magic, suggestion, psychology, misdirection and showmanship ... oh, and he is also a brilliant artist.
Freddy Cole is the brother of the legendary, Nat 'King' Cole. A wonderfully gifted singer and extraordinary pianist, Freddy has the most impeccable phrasing and interpretes his own material and standards in the most soul-warming of ways.
Patrick Cornelius is a saxophonist based in New York City. He has collaborated with Nick Vayenas on a couple of recordings and often plays in the UK with bassist Michael Janisch and The TransAtlantic Collective.
Jared Gold is a B-3 Hammond organist based in New Jersey. Jared released his debut CD, "Solids & Stripes
Wynton Marsalis is one of the world's top trumpeters, band leaders and composers - need I say more?
Naturally 7 is an extraordinary group of vocalists who first toured with Michael on the "Call Me Irresponsible" tour. After the resounding success of their first tour together, Naturally 7 was invited back to join Michael as Special Guests on the "Crazy Love" tour. This incredible septet has created their own unique genre of music called 'vocal play', where not only do they sing close a capella harmonies in styles ranging from hip-hop, R&B through to traditional gospel music, but they are also their own backing band too, in that they actually become a variety of musical instruments accurately mimicking horns, guitars, violins, drums, cellos, bass, etc using only their voices. Listen out for their very own vocal DJ and their very own emcee ...
Individually, each of the guys are hugely talented gentleman but together, as Naturally 7, they are a vocal phenomenon. If you ever have the opportunity to see Naturally 7 perform live, I would strongly recommend you do so - these guys will change the way you 'see' and 'feel' music ... I absolutely adore these guys and each time I hear them sing is an immense honour and a privilege!

Sachal Vasandani is a singer-songwriter based in New York City, fusing modern jazz, blues and the standards. Sachal was a semi-finalist in the 2004 Thelonious Monk Institute Competion. His debut, "Eyes Wide Open" was released in 2007 with Mack Avenue Records.
